Tech Mahindra teams up with Microsoft to transform workplaces using generative AI
Global technology consulting and digital solutions company Tech Mahindra has partnered with Microsoft to build an employee experience platform using generative AI.
Such a transformation can impact productivity for those working from anywhere. The partnership focuses on the deployment of Copilot for Microsoft 365, establishing Tech Mahindra as a leading Global Systems Integrator (GSI), embracing this groundbreaking AI technology.
The partnership offers a chance to increase work productivity and reduce errors in multi-thousand customer process operations across 15 sites among more than 1,200 clients for their first batch of over 10,000 employees. By using Microsoft’s proven cloud platform and generative AI innovations, Tech Mahindra is poised to create a new way of working at modern workplaces. These changes are expected to drive innovation, brand, and native growth in a dynamic competitive environment.
Tech Mahindra plans to adopt GitHub Copilot for 5,000 developers alongside the launch of Copilot for Microsoft 365. This move is expected to enable the workforce, thereby underscoring Tech Mahindra’s intent to make AI accessible for all users in the IT enterprise and to increase developer productivity by 35% to 40%.
Mohit Joshi, CEO and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra, emphasised the transformative nature of this initiative. “We are not just adopting a tool; we are shaping the future of work for our employees and customers,” Joshi stated. He highlighted that the collaboration with Microsoft and the introduction of Copilot for Microsoft 365 and GitHub Copilot marks a significant stride in Tech Mahindra’s commitment to making AI accessible to everyone.
The company plans to extend Copilot’s value by integrating plugins within and outside the Microsoft app ecosystem. This approach aims to leverage multiple data sources, driving creativity and increasing productivity. The collaboration focuses on increasing efficiency, reducing effort, and enhancing quality and compliance across the board.
As part of this partnership, Tech Mahindra has launched a dedicated Copilot practice. This initiative is designed to help customers unlock the full potential of AI tools through comprehensive workforce training, assessment, and preparation. These elements are critical for successfully integrating AI across every area and function in an organisation. Tech Mahindra will offer comprehensive solutions to help customers assess, prepare, pilot, and adopt business solutions that utilise Copilot for Microsoft 365.
Judson Althoff, Executive Vice President and CCO at Microsoft, highlighted the empowering nature of this collaboration. “Our collaboration with Tech Mahindra will empower its employees with new generative AI capabilities to enhance workplace experiences and increase developer productivity through the adoption of Copilot for Microsoft 365 and GitHub Copilot,” Althoff stated.
The partnership aligns with Tech Mahindra’s ongoing efforts to enhance workforce productivity using GenAI tools, setting new productivity benchmarks and driving greater value for customers. Recently, the company launched a unified workbench on Microsoft Fabric, designed to accelerate the adoption of Microsoft Fabric and enable organisations to create complex data workflows with a simple-to-use interface.
The longstanding collaboration between Microsoft and Tech Mahindra has also resulted in several industry-leading solutions:
